JULY 2021

Quarterly newsletter, keeping you in the loop!

Staff Update:

We sadly announce Dr Nirodi will be leaving Yewtree Medical Centre on Tuesday 13th July. It has been such an honor to work with Dr Nirodi. He is a hardworking, incredible doctor! Our staff and patients will miss him immensely and we all wish him the best in his new job.

Please welcome our newest staff member Mariya who shall be joining the reception/admin team.

We encourage our patients to use Patient Access where you can order your repeat prescriptions from the comfort of your home. No more waiting around to get through to the phones! This app allows our patients to request their prescriptions on time and helps the phone lines to become less busy, enabling appointments and other emergency enquiries shorter waiting time.

All you must do is:

  1. Download the MyGP app or register on patientaccess.com
  2. Call the surgery to request your credentials to be emailed to you
  3. Fill out your details, then it is all up and running!

Social Prescribers:

We have team members working with us to help you with any social issues you may have. These include combatting loneliness by putting you in touch with events in the community, benefit suspension or cut off, job loss, high interest lending (loan sharks and pay day loan providers), bailiff action, budgeting and managing a household budget, understanding credit and financial services, domestic abuse.

All our staff, including our admin team can put you in touch with them.

Are you a Carer?

If you are a carer, then please let us know.  We have a carers group with whom we meet regularly. We will also ensure you get flexibility around appointment times, and other ways we can make your life easier. Our carers leads are Jody and Khadijah. Please do not hesitate to request to speak to them for any further information.

Mental Health

At Yew Tree Medical Centre we take mental health seriously. We are sensitive to the fact that these times have not been the easiest and have impacted a lot of us in many ways. Therefore, we would like to arrange mental health sessions for our patients who need someone to talk to. We have excellent services we can refer you to and have the loveliest mental health lead – Elsa. Feel free to call us and request to speak to her.

Other services you can always contact for mental health:

  • Talk Liverpool – self referral
  • MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS TEAM (24hr phoneline) – number: 0151 296 7200
